Wild Clay & Earth Pigments using alternative kilns & firing techniques
8-10 May 2020 – Millstone Pottery, McGregor
In this workshop you will dig your own wild clay from the earth and use it unprocessed to create vessels showing the natural reactions between raw materials and minerals foraged from the same source.
You will also have the opportunity of firing pots you bring along, as well as those made in the workshop, using a variety of alternative kilns and firing techniques. Each one of these unique methods results in spontaneous and dramatic effects on the work. Enjoy the beauty and magic of these ancient techniques as you glaze, burnish, and fire. Firings include:
• Smoke & Barrel
• Foil Saggar
Guest presenter: Belinda Blignaut
